For the most crisp and clean results, make sure the temperatures will be above 45 degrees over the next few days after the sealcoat is applied. Also it’s important that no rain is to be expected for at least 3 days after the project.

You want to make sure that your driveway is as clean as possible when you’re about to apply the sealcoating. Remove any weeds, and be sure to remove any debris. It’s a good idea to use a pressure washer to clean out any cracks in the asphalt, and you can use any store bought asphalt cleaner to remove oil stains. Any cleaning to the driveway should be done immediately before the application of the sealcoating, because you want the driveways to be damp when you apply the sealant. You’ll also want any large cracks to be filled in before getting started.
